Cooking Party FAQs
How do I book a party?
You can book your party online through the "Kids Cooking Party Menu" page. Click on "Book Now" and you will be taken into the calendar. Choose the date you are interested in and the available party times will be displayed. A $100 non-refundable deposit is due to book a birthday party.
Should you need to reschedule your party after booking, you may do so up to 14 days prior to party and your deposit will be transferred. Cancellation with less than 14 days notice will result in forfeiture of the deposit. If The Culinary Playground needs to cancel your party due to unforeseen circumstances or inclement weather we will reschedule your party or refund your deposit.
Do you provide the party invitation?
Yes, we do! We recommend using our invitation as it contains directions and our phone number so that guests may call us with food allergy questions or any other concerns. After you book your party, your invitation will be customized and emailed to you as a printable file so that you may print out and distribute to guests or forward as email. Please make sure to include your email address and phone number when registering as these will be included on your invitation as ways to rsvp. Allow a few days after booking party for invitation to be sent to you.
What do I need to bring?
The only thing you have to bring is the birthday child! Many party menus include a dessert, or we decorate cupcakes, so you don't even need to bring a cake! We can put a candle in almost anything we cook. We serve water as the beverage, and supply all plates, cups and silverware, as well. However, if you would like to bring in a cake, or ice cream to accompany our dessert, or If you prefer another beverage other than water for guests, you are welcome to bring that. If your party is scheduled over the lunch or dinner hour and your party menu doesn't include a "meal", you are welcome to bring in your own food (or order food to be delivered) for the children.
Can parents stay and watch?
Sure! We do have limited seating, but parents are welcome to stay.
How do you handle kids with food allergies?
The Culinary Playground is not an allergy-free facility. However, none of our birthday party menus include nuts. If a child has a food intolerance, or an allergy, we can usually accommodate them if we know ahead of time. Please have the child's parent contact us directly. We want everyone who comes into our studio to have a safe experience.
Can I bring decorations?
The studio is brightly colored and has a fun, party-like atmosphere without added decoration, so we do not feel they are necessary. However, feel free to bring a few balloons or special decorations if you like.
Is there time for gift opening during the party?
Yes! We will cook for about an hour and a half. The last half hour is for present opening, eating and birthday song!
